Get Body Smart
Ownership: Scott Sheffield, Portland Oregon
This material is too basic to be used for a medical school anatomy course. It could be used to prepare students for their first anatomy course.
Get Body Smart is an interactive website for a skeletal muscle lab module and introduction. A sliding feature allows users to add and remove surrounding muscles to help visualize muscle positions and relationships. Quizzes are also available, including fill in the blank identification prompts.
Subjects include Overview of Human Body Systems, Skeletal System, Muscle Tissue Physiology, Muscular System, Nervous System, Circulatory (Cardiovascular) System, Respiratory System and Urinary System. Some subjects are more detailed than others, but overall the information is very broad and introductory.
There are two prototypes available for mobile devices, Nervous System Apps and Respiratory System Apps.
